Is pain inhibiting you from doing what you love? Are you chronically stiff, sore and tight?
My goal is for you to leave my office feeling way better than when you came in every time I see you. It makes my day to hear my clients say, “Definitely better!” as they re-test a previously painful position.
Muscle Activation Technique (MAT) pinpoints and corrects the muscular weaknesses that lead to tightness, pain, decreased performance, and injuries.
MAT treats the body as an interconnected whole, and treats the underlying source of muscular weakness, rather than the symptom. (For example, foot mechanics have a profound effect on lower back function.) This creates an environment for healing to occur.
Muscles work in synergy to produce movement at every joint. When one muscle is weak, other muscles have to compensate. Over time, this stresses muscle and tendon tissue, which can result in tightness, spasms, inflammation or tears. Compensation can also alter joint motion and place unnecessary stress on the joints’ structure, predisposing you to injury. Ligament tears, arthritis, and bone spurs are symptoms of joint misalignment caused by muscular weakness and repetitive use.
Muscle Activation Therapy benefits anyone who wants to:
MAT is especially helpful for athletes. It was developed by Greg Roskopf, a biomechanics expert who created MAT while consulting for professional sports teams including the Denver Broncos, the Utah Jazz and the Denver Nuggets.
Each session takes place on a massage table in fitness clothing. Movement availability, stability and flexibility are assessed via specific movement tests and a range of motion evaluation. Based on the findings, strength tests are administered. Weak muscles are manually activated and retested to confirm success. The results are immediate. The specific muscles addressed are completely dictated by the individualized results of this extensive assessment. The initial assessments are re-tested to gauge improvement, and a short exercise program is given to reinforce results produced in the session.
If no improvements are made, your session is free!
