Today is my birthday! And to celebrate it, I want to share a story with you that I hope will inspire you to live your passion!   Over the winter my husband and I got into this Netflix series called The Chef’s Table.   This series is incredibly inspiring, as it gets into the head and heart of pure genius, the small number of chefs who have received three Michelin Stars.   These are the Mozart’s of cooking. One might think these chefs mad, as they are driven by their soul’s passion for food and the all-encompassing pursuit of perfection. They live and breathe their art, spending all their time sourcing the best ingredients and working tirelessly to create new cooking methods or dishes in the kitchen.   I find their passion inspiringly intoxicating. One episode that actually made me giddy was one about Grant Achatz, and his restaurant, Alinea in Chicago.   His story is nothing short of inspiring and his food, what I would call, multi- sensory art.   After Grant was diagnosed with a chef’s worst nightmare, cancer of the mouth, he was told by the first doctor that he would need to remove his tongue. Think about it, just five years ago, a lot of things were different. Technology has now made it possible to go to school virtually, so people can take classes and get degrees from anywhere! And, the internet has made different kinds of jobs accessible to more people, giving us so many more options on how we can best design a career we love. So much suffering comes from doing things we don’t want to do. And, when we do things we don’t want to do, it actually lowers our energy and can over time even affect our health, as the release of stress hormones over long periods of time can tax our immune system. With our world moving so fast, sometimes it’s hard to even figure out what we want. And, sometimes, although we may know what we want, if we don’t know how to make it happen right now, we give up on it. For example, say you want to lose weight. Stress Relief for a Common Emotional Disease, Guilt Ahhhhhh guilt. Letting go of guilt can not only be great stress relief, but it also raises your energy level and vibration. Abraham Hicks, one of the first to bring the Law of Attraction to the world, says that we can attract what we want if we believe it is possible, and feeling the excited and positive feelings that would come from receiving what we want helps to raise our vibration to the level equal to what we want, so we can attract what we want faster. Conversely, if we feel guilty, we actually lower our vibration, and bring ourselves further away from what we want. Working out to your favorite music helps you avoid distractions and energize your workout experience. Especially when you are in a crowded gym situation, it is so helpful to use motivating music to focus and inspire you.   I also pay attention to the words of the songs I choose, making sure they are positive and uplifting.  I stay away from training to breakup songs that sound angry or use negative language, as hearing negative words actually has a weakening response on your body.   Through the 1990s, Dr. Masaru Emoto performed a series of experiments observing the physical effect of words, prayers, music and environment on the molecular structure of water.  As our bodies are made of over 60% water, this theory affects us.   Here’s a great video describing his work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAvzsjcBtx8   In working with clients daily, I have found emotional stress makes people weaker and more tired.  I usually do stress reduction exercises prior to applying force on a body.
