The reason it’s hard to achieve your goals and to keep your resolutions is because on some level you don’t quite think its possible. What you want is unfamiliar and threatening to your status quo, so taking action steps to make it happen can feel like an uphill climb. Having resolve and will power to do things that are unfamiliar takes a lot of extra effort and energy. So, if you don’t see immediate results, it is easy to lose interest, especially with all the usual demands of your every day life. I mean, you barely have time to do what you have to do now, so how can you add anything extra? Sometimes, it just feels too hard to do it all, I get it.
The same way it feels good to have a glass of wine with dinner, it can feel good to keep your vision and goals at the front of your mind and to take action steps that really satisfy you as you do them. The truth is, it’s unlikely you will do them any other way.
Our modern day society expects immediate results, but even fast growth doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time for change to happen, but as time goes on, it is less and less likely, you will continue to keep your resolutions, and by the end of the year, you may realize another year has gone by without you achieving what you had hoped.

This is your Lara Touch style introduction to Vision Boards — powerful tools which are the first step in harnessing the Law of Attraction by allowing you to visualize your most desired dreams. All you need to create your Vision Board is a poster board, scissors, glue, and a variety of magazines. Just go with your gut! Simply cut out images to which you are drawn, even if you are not yet consciously aware of the reason you are attracted to them. These images may give you new information about what you want and what it might look like! It should take roughly 2-3 hours to complete your board.
Next, you will start harnessing the Law of Attraction by asking yourself what feelings does your board elicit, in order to get your body, mind, and spirit in alignment with the belief that you can have what’s on your board. On the Feelings From Vision Board worksheet, write down a list of feelings that your board evokes, and why your board makes you feel that way. If you are stuck, we’ve included a list of adjectives on the Feelings List, that you can choose from. At the bottom of the page, write down 4 different adjectives that you have extracted from your list of feelings. This exercise should only take about 45 minutes to complete.
Now it’s time to come up with a title for your Vision Board, by mixing and matching the adjectives from your previous list to fill in the This is My Year of Statement and Song worksheet. For example, if your adjectives are efficient, expansion, satisfied and successful, your board title might me: “This is my year of fuel-efficient expansion and satisfied success.” You will also select a song that inspires you, to go along with your board. We have provided you with a list of song suggestions on the Year of Songs List if you are having difficulty picking one. Give yourself about 15 minutes everyday for a week to settle on a title and song that feel good to you! Take a look at the examples we give for some inspiration!
Once you have a title and song, reflect upon your board title and dance to your song for just a few minutes everyday–on your way to work, in the car or train–it only takes a few minutes to feel the excitement of having your dreams come true and to harness The Law of Attraction. It works, but it doesn’t work with just words. For The Law of Attraction to truly work, you must feel – with every ounce of your being – that what you want is possible, in order to attract it and to let it into your life!
Abraham also states that the secret to achieving our goals is not just saying what we want with words, but being in the receiving mode of what the Universe will bring us.
In this video, explore how you can get into this receiving mode, and become accepting of all that is on your board. No one wants to do anything they “have to” or “should” do, but we all love doing things that make us FEEL good. This video helps you figure out what action steps and self care items will make you feel these feelings in your lives. By scheduling activities that make you feel good, you will be actualizing your feelings in your board and living into them! Fill in your year’s title, put your adjectives/feelings into the chart, and determine just 5 things you can do on a weekly basis, which will enable you to feel the feelings your board elicits. Filling this information in the Daily Needs Log worksheet should take you approximately 30-40 minutes. We’ve also included a Daily Needs Example sheet you can refer to. This will compel and inspire you to take action!
Then, at a pace that feels comfortable to you, start incorporating those 5 actions into your life, and continue to look at your board and listen to your song everyday-this will help your mind, body and soul become comfortable and even excited by your vision becoming a reality! Don’t get overwhelmed! These 5 actions are things that will bring you joy, energy, inspiration, and can be as simple as drinking more water or looking up at the beautiful sunset everyday.
Now it’s time to talk about goals! Everyone got nervous when we brought up goals in my workshop, but the way you will set these goals is from a place of “having” verses striving. For example, if your goal is to get a new job, your statement may be: “I feel appreciated and valued when I have a job doing something I really love, working with people I really like, and having a boss who appreciates me.” As you feel the feelings associated with having your goals become a reality, these goals seem more possible! Come up with no more than 7 Feeling Is Having statements as well as the specifics for each goal and write them on the Feeling is Having worksheet. This should take you approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. You can do this exercise either the same day as the previous step, or wait a few days.
Now we are going to ensure that you are taking action daily! On the Achieve Your Goals Through Inspired Action worksheet, write your goal at the top, then write the action steps of what will help you achieve that goal. Once written, analyze the steps—which ones feel easily attainable and make you feel you empowered to do on our own? Which ones feel difficult to initiate? You may be able to give these away or enlist help for these. Next, think about how you will feel when each action step is complete and write down that feeling. This should take approximately 30-40 minutes, and can be done in conjunction with Part 5.
This step will help you stay accountable with achieving your goals. Now you will create a checklist that will contain all of your self-care and daily needs, as well as the daily/weekly action steps you are taking towards your goals. The idea is to pre-plan each action for each week by highlighting the days you are going to take each action on the Needs and Action Steps Weekly Plan and Checklist. On this checklist, you will write down the feeling you experience after you complete each action or need – this is a great way to continue to feel into the emotions of your board as you start to live into your vision and complete your goals. Take 30-40 minutes to fill out the sheet, then complete each action throughout the week on the days that you plan to fulfill each action.
Time to wrap it up! You have the tools you need—the daily inspiration of looking at your board and dancing to your song, as well as the motivation to take action to fulfill your needs and help you get closer to your goals. As you take these steps you are truly utilizing the Law of Attraction and bringing what you want into your life everyday, from the inside out.
